They Don’t Want To

Even with all the censorship, fact-checking and controls on Facebook, why can’t they stop the porn and solicitation posts? They also have paid advertisements that don’t meet their “community standards.” Surely these problems get reported? They rejected my ad that included an image of JESUS on the cross, because it “showed torture.” Seriously! If they can intercept JESUS on the cross, why can’t they stop the trash? Maybe they don’t want to? They may want to keep the trash and the viewers that come with it!

That is like the problems we see repeated daily in the news. Whether it’s the pandemic, illegal immigration, or racial unrest, no one seems to be solving anything. Politicians continue making speeches and spending money, but nothing gets fixed. With the greatest minds available to help them find real answers to these problems, why are we losing ground? Could it be they don’t want to find the answer? We saw that during the last election and it seemed to work. It’s hard to imagine something so outrageous, but will our national failure lead to their success?

The Church was infected by this problem right from the start. Christians worship the same GOD, have the same Bible and have been called to unity, but we are more divided than ever. You would think with the world running headlong to destruction, we would have come together in the name of JESUS, but that’s not happening. Churches, denominations and the Body of CHRIST as a whole are finding new reasons to go our separate ways. It doesn’t stop after they split, but anger, bitterness and hatred continue. They have to protect their doctrinal points, rather than saving souls. Sadly, we can’t come together, because they don’t want to.

So what do we do with “I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all” (Eph 4: 1-6)? Can they justify disobedience because of the disobedience of others? Maybe we all can love GOD more and our neighbor as ourselves (John 10:27) so we can come together?

What if “they don’t want to” walk in unity? That means I will have to love them even more “Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ” (Eph 14:13 – 15 KJV).

I can’t wait until others hear GOD’s voice and want to obey His commands. I have to do my part and may have to do some of theirs, because the world needs to hear the Good News that “God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16 KJV) even if they don’t want to.
