I’ve been looking for Friends on Facebook who might help me share my Good News to Share stories. JESUS said, “The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few” (Mat 9:37 KJV). I have relatively high standards, because I can make thousands of Friends in a short period, but they may not read and share my stories if they have other priorities. They may be looking for relationships that can help them improve their lives. Some of them are on their way to hell, but don’t recognize the relationship that can give them, their family, and friends’ eternal life! They may want to be my friend, but they have another agenda.
Facebook limits personal pages to 5000 Friends, so each of those numbers are very precious. In addition, managing a page and posting updates takes time and effort, so I don’t want to waste my time on less productive Friends. When I am looking for new Friends I want someone with at least 1000 Friends, because they are more likely to be active and capable users. Anything they Share goes to many more people, so I hope they accept my request and Share my stories! They have the means and capability, but will they help me?
How can I tell who might read and share my stories? I look to see what they have posted. If their page is filled with personal pictures and funny stories, I look for someone else. Not everyone uses their page to glorify GOD and minister to others, so those people probably won’t read and pass on my stories. If recent posts show they are regularly sharing the love of JESUS with a lost and dying world, they are a good candidate. I particularly like to Friend Pastors, teachers and Ministers who are actively working for the LORD and it reflects in their posts.
I also look for recent activity on a potential Friend’s page. They may have thousands of friends, have been an active user, and used their page for JESUS, but for some reason they stopped. Maybe they became “weary in well doing” (Gal 6:9 KJV) or became distracted from their posting? 2 Cor 6:2 says, “now is the day of salvation” so what they used to do won’t help today. They were doing something for the LORD, but for whatever reason, now they are not.
Doesn’t everyone matter? Yes, but I am trying to touch as many souls as possible, so I need willing and capable Messengers to help me share the Good News! If the HOLY SPIRIT gives me a nudge, I drop my standards and Friend someone who I hope will read my stories and let the LORD speak to their heart. What about those people with few Friends and minimal ability on Facebook? Hopefully a Messenger will share the Good News with them, or maybe you will? Facebook will never replace the need for a sincere and personal witness.
Fortunately GOD isn’t selective when He is looking for relationships! “God so loved the world” (including you) “that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever” (including you) “believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life…For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved” (John 3:16-17 KJV). You don’t have to fit His standards, because “if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Cor 5:17 KJV). Then imperfect you can become a Messenger of the Good News of JESUS CHRIST!
