Surely you agree? Just as I was getting used to where things were, they changed everything! Nothing like a little surprise in a year of surprises and they dropped fifty on me all at once! It was like I was on the wrong program! Some highly paid engineer should be rewarded for such a great idea! He is being thanked around the world right now for his consideration!
But of course they have to improve. I got up extra early, so I could post my stories on a bunch of pages and FB took (more like kidnapped) me on a tour of their new creation. They forced me to endure their presentation if I ever wanted to get to my task. I was impressed with all the creative ways they found to hide what used to be right out in plain sight.
Knowing the fast paced world we live in and that we want everything now, surely they made it faster? Nope! Everything takes forever to open and hangs up if you try to hurry. It reminds me of the “good old days” when we connected via modems and we had to carefully choose our clicks or the computer would hang up and let you reboot and start all over. They are nice about it though, the reload button shows up after every crash!
One improvement I like is the ability to invite my Friends to “Like” a page I manage (Good News to Share). Before I could only invite new Friends and that annoyed me. Now I can invite all 1,947 Friends at once, with no way to see which ones already like it. That seemed workable until an error message pops up, telling me something went wrong!
My love for Facebook isn’t new. I’ve always loved the way their fact-checkers follow the liberal views. I marvel at which stories don’t meet their standards, but how trashy advertisements fill up my Timeline. I appreciate the way they reject articles and posts with no explanation, but lock us out when we try to spread the “Good News” too many times. I know it’s a private business, but their logic seems a bit twisted.
Yes, I used a bit of sarcasm to express my “love” for Facebook, but I actually appreciate being able to share the Good News of JESUS CHRIST around the world with just a few clicks of my mouse. I am a shy speaker, but GOD gave me a way to boldly “talk” to people about JESUS through my stories. Yes there are other programs I could use, but Facebook lets me reach a wider audience with my limited resources than any other way I have found.
When the pandemic locked us down, Facebook enabled Churches to minister to their congregations, when we weren’t allowed to leave our homes. Some ministries, like our Church, grew during this restrictive period. Once reserved for larger Churches, our small Church now has a flourishing online ministry, at least in part due to Facebook. Even in this modern world, people must still hear the Gospel message and believe in JESUS CHRIST to be saved. Tools like Facebook help us to “preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15)!
