What If?

What if 150,000 people were taken away from this world yesterday? Would it get your attention? That is like losing the entire population of Killeen, Texas in one day. It would be an emergency on a scale we haven’t seen! I’m sure politicians would be looking for answers, instead of political infighting. The President would act, in cooperation with other World leaders. Our military would stand ready to respond and volunteers would line up to join in the fight. The Police would be respected, and civic leaders would give their support. The media would look for the truth and provide factual reporting. Our country would unite with others in the face of such an enormous loss of life. Remember the unity right after the 9/11 attacks?

What if most of those people were horribly tormented and their excruciating pain would never come to an end? Would there be anything we wouldn’t do to prevent that from happening to more people? Our scientists would look for real solutions and there would be no opposition to finding the truth. Educators would spread that knowledge in our colleges and our young people would be brought up knowing the truth and would be better for it. No one would be offended when truth was repeated.

What if another 150,000 will be taken today and nobody knew who they would be? That is more people in two days than died in the Indonesia tsunami (2004)! People would turn to GOD in this time of trouble. Church attendance would explode! People would look for help and comfort in the Bible and in prayer. Religious leaders would be held accountable if they preached a sugar-coated message. GOD would be welcomed back into schools and His Word would be part of every lesson. People would turn from their wicked ways and repent of their sins.

150,000 people were taken away yesterday and entered eternity and another 150,000 will leave today, tomorrow and the next day until the LORD returns. The number changes each day, but everyone will eventually die. The tragedy is, most of them will spend an eternity in Hell “for broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in… narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it” (Mat 7:13-14). Does it matter the exact number that goes to which place? It does to them! Each soul that is saved from unimaginable pain and torment is saved unto an eternity of unbelievable joy, without want or need.

So why isn’t the world responding to this ongoing disaster? It’s because “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy” (John 10:10 KJV) …and “the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ … should shine unto them” (2 Cor 4:4 KJV). Instead of responding to the highest priority in everyone’s life and sharing the answer, we fight with each other over trivial things, while another 150,000 passes into eternity and lose their last chance to repent and be saved.

What if there was an answer? There is! “God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16 KJV). Stop fighting one another and tell the lost world about JESUS CHRIST!
