Helpful Community Information

The stated purpose of the Facebook Group I joined using my wife’s account is to post “helpful community information.” When I began sharing some of my stories, I received mostly positive comments and plenty of likes. Some thanked me for being a bold Christian and others appreciated the message I was conveying. I expected that from this group covering several small towns, near a military base in Texas.

Then came the negative comments mocking the belief in GOD, questioning my intentions and broad accusations against the Church. Sadly, I have also come to expect that side in recent years, especially when sharing on non-Christian pages. Christian persecution in the US has become acceptable amongst those who demand tolerance for their actions, cause, or lifestyle. One person speculated on our reaction if non-Christian religions begin sharing their posts. Another person showed a screenshot of a “Pray for Israel” post from my wife’s page and repeated the latest anti-Israel accusations and their anger for anyone supporting them.

So how did I respond? Did I delete their comments, defend my rights, blast their ignorance, or question their outrageous comments? No, I posted another story the following day. I have hundreds of these stories, written over the past 10 years, on various topics. Why let them share their attacks without answering back? JESUS said, “They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick” (Mat 9:12 KJV). They are the people I need to reach with my stories. I appreciate the kind words from Christians, but I really want them to share GOD’s love with the lost. That’s why I call my stories “Good News to Share” and share them when and where I can.

Someone should stop them! They deserve to be shamed and ridiculed, especially those who support the terrorist attacks against GOD’s chosen people! I choose to follow the example of JESUS, who while He was hanging on the cross prayed “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do” (Luke 23:34 KJV). He specifically told us to “Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you” (Mat 5:44 KJV). That command fits this situation perfectly.

But they won’t appreciate your love or blessings and will continue to persecute you! If they keep reading my stories and their friends read them, a seed of faith may get in their sprit because “faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Rom 10:17 KJV). That’s why I include a lot of scriptures and I pray the HOLY SPIRIT is doing more of the writing than I am.

Shouldn’t we defend you? I appreciate the offer, but I’d rather you share the Good News like JESUS commanded (Mark 16:15) for “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned” (Mark 16:16 KJV). Don’t forget the love GOD showed us in that, “while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Rom 5:8 KJV).
