When you saw this story show up, perhaps you had a brief “there he goes again” thought. If you’ve read many of my stories, you realize, no matter what the subject, I will somehow end up talking about JESUS. Could it be that you no longer share these stories because they have the same theme? You may be tired of the “same old story” and just skimmed over it to see if this story was any different.
I can tell you this story is more of the same, but do you think the elderly lady who struggled up a few stairs into our Church one Friday afternoon thought this was the same old story? She had terrible pains in her stomach from cancer, couldn’t eat and had been given three months to live. While our Pastor was praying for her, a relative, who had been set free from an infirmity a few weeks before in our Church, arrived and laid hands on the elderly lady and prayed in faith and the elderly lady was delivered! She walked out after the prayer to go find something to eat, because the pain was gone, and she was hungry! If that’s the same old story, I’m guilty.
Those kinds of things have been happening since JESUS “was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed” (Isa 53:5 KJV). Because “God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved” (John 3:16-17 KJV) and being saved is more than just not going to hell.
I don’t want to minimize being set free from the sting of death and the grave (1 Cor 15:55). 150,000 won’t think of it as the “same old story” as many of them enter Hell and few enter heaven (Mat 7:13-14) for eternity today! You don’t have to choose because you can have it all!
Even though GOD loves you, and JESUS died and took stripes for your healing, it isn’t all about you. Now it’s your turn to “love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind” and “love thy neighbour as thyself” (Mat 22: 37 and 39 KJV). To do all GOD wants you to do, you need to be healed! Does that sound like the same old story? I’ll take it!
