After weeks of planning, making reservations and growing anticipation, we woke up early to get everyone to the airport before I headed off to Church. Susan decided to eat at the airport because that’s part of the fun of traveling. We double-checked that she had everything, and I loaded her luggage into the car. We stopped by to pick up one sister at her house and then at the other’s place we got her sister and brother-in-law. They had all taken this trip before and had carefully packed to minimize luggage fees. Everyone was excited to finally be on their way. It was early and traffic was light, even at the airport.
I dropped them off, said goodbye and was happy it went so smooth. I was miles away on the highway when I got a frantic call from Susan. They tried to check-in and were told their flight doesn’t exist! No explanations, no help, their conformation numbers meant nothing for a plane that doesn’t exist! Priceline had no immediate answer, and the airline wouldn’t rebook them on another flight without Priceline’s ok. I told Susan to buy tickets from another airline so they wouldn’t lose everything we had already paid for. She asked but said the cost would be way too much! I called my Pastor and told him what happened, and he said, “take care of your family.” I drove back to the airport, loaded everyone, and took them for breakfast. While we were eating, Priceline called and said the original flight had been cancelled and they were booked on a flight later that night. What a relief! We returned home to rest; then I took them to the airport (again) and they left on the new flight.
Our shock upon hearing the flight doesn’t exist and not being offered any help is nothing compared to what too many people are hearing right now. They were told they had reservations in Heaven, but JESUS said “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity” (Mat 7:21-23 KJV)!
What! You mean everyone won’t go to Heaven? That’s right. If you haven’t accepted JESUS as your LORD and SAVIOR before you die, your place in Heaven doesn’t exist. There isn’t anyone who can help find another way. JESUS said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6 KJV). What do we do if we aren’t saved? Surely a loving GOD wouldn’t send anyone to Hell! GOD won’t send anyone to Hell, but they sent themselves when they rejected JESUS.
The plan of salvation is this, “God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved” (John 3:16-17 KJV) but it up to each person to believe and receive JESUS. Then their name is “written in the book of life” but “whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire” (Rev 20:15 KJV). You can only accept JESUS as your SAVIOR while you are still living. Accept Him now, before it’s too late!
