There’s a storm developing in the Caribbean that looks like it could hit storm weary Florida. My family is praying it doesn’t come their way after experiencing an unusually active hurricane season already. I’m sure their neighbors across the Southeastern US would agree, they’ve had too much wind and rain this year!
I live in Texas, and I suggested they send the storm to San Antonio. I specifically mentioned our city, because Houston was hit hard by storms earlier in the year and wouldn’t welcome another one. I know most of the rest of Texas is in a drought and the situation is getting serious. It seems strange that we are so close to areas with too much rain, and yet we have too little.
That’s a lot like walking in GOD’s power. Some people are overflowing, while nearby, others are suffering through a spiritual drought. You can be affected, encouraged and inspired by GOD moving in someone else’s life, but you need your own relationship with Him! JESUS said, “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3 KJV)! He also said, “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you” (John 15:5-7 KJV). That means it’s between you and GOD! He doesn’t save Churches, or families, or groups, He saves people, one by one and that’s just the beginning!
BTW, you can’t get too much of this good thing! It’s “exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us” (Eph 3:20 KJV).
