Thank You Doesn’t Seem Enough

As we celebrate Thanksgiving, I wanted to find a way to express my gratitude to GOD for the many blessings in my life. Considering who He is and who I am, words quickly fail me. I struggle for words that are big enough to let Him know how much I appreciate what He has done, but they all seem to fall short. Somehow thank you doesn’t seem enough.

Soon it will be Christmas and that presents a bigger challenge. How can I bid JESUS a Merry Christmas, when He left Heaven to be born in a humble stable for me? Few people celebrated His arrival, and it was years before His great sacrifice was made known. Considering all that, Merry Christmas just doesn’t seem enough.

Having failed to find adequate words for those great events, how can I hope to find words for Easter? To think the GOD of the ages gave His son to pay for my sins and JESUS died on the cross for me is beyond all means of expression. That it was while we were still sinners “so we could be called sons of GOD” is beyond comprehension. Happy Easter certainly is not enough.

In the light of this love, we were given a way to express our thanks. More than with words, we were told to “love one another as I have loved you.” A lofty calling that is only possible because it is His love, He wants us to share and that is enough.
