Think On These Things

With the flood of information we get each day, we have a lot to think about. Some things are important and relate to our work, health, finances, or help us make better decisions. Along with important information, comes everything else. Whether it’s politics, sports, entertainment, or other’s opinion, it can vary from serious to a waste of time.

We must be careful. This flood of information mostly comes from a lost and dying world and can affect the way we think! Even the news is tainted by the providers beliefs. That’s where the “the thief” who “cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy” (John 10:10 KJV) can enter your mind. Political views can lead to anger and hatred, sports can become too important, porn is called entertainment, and sin is seen as freedom.

What are we supposed to do? “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil” and “Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked (Eph 6:11,14-16 KJV). “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things” (Phil 4:8 KJV).
