Life expectancy in the U.S. is declining. How can that be with our booming economy and great healthcare? Safety standards and nutrition levels have never been better, and we have a world-class law enforcement and judicial system. With no large wars, life expectancy should be on the rise. Mass shootings are dramatic, but only account for a small number of deaths.
Major factors are death from drug abuse and related crime, and an increase in suicide. The OPIOID problem led to the dramatic rise in drug related deaths. Drug abuse has been the root of most serious crime for years, but OPIOIDs are readily available, more addictive, and harder to beat. Suicide reflects an increase in despair and a decrease in the value of life.
I don’t get it! Are you really surprised? GOD was expelled from schools, banned from the public square, and replaced with an anti-CHRIST spirit. Exactly where are children supposed to learn “Thou shall not kill” and “be not drunk with wine” or “be sober, be vigilant?” Parents and teachers are afraid to discipline children, as absolutes are questioned along with all sense of right and wrong. Policemen are condemned for maintaining law and order, while criminals are treated for their problems. “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil” (Isa 5:20 KJV).
The things I do get, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10 KJV). “God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” John 3:16 KJV). Accept JESUS as your Savior and gain eternal life or He will be your judge, and you will get eternal death.
