If you think the answer is the person who lives next to where you live, you are partly right. Yes, they are, but when JESUS was asked that question, he told the story of the good Samaritan: “A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which … wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead… there came down a certain priest… he passed by on the other side… And likewise a Levite. But a certain Samaritan…he had compassion on him…and brought him to an inn, and took care of him… Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves? And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise” (Luke 10:30-37 KJV).
There are a lot of hurting people out there and you have the answer they need, if you have the love of JESUS and have made Him LORD of your life. You won’t have to ask, who your neighbor is, because the HOLY SPIRIT will tell you, and you will be looking for a way to reach them. Don’t feel like you can do it? That’s great, because it’s the HOLY SPIRIT that’s going to draw them and GOD will provide the way. JESUS said, “My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness” (2 Cor 12:9 KJV). Don’t think it’s important? JESUS said it is “likened unto” loving GOD!
