“in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy…Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good…Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God” (2 Tim 3:1-4 KJV). Have you heard of a better description of the times we are living in? Paul is talking about sin, which sadly is not only in the world, but in the Church! That is why “the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God” (1 Peter 4:17 KJV).
Why would judgement begin with the Church? Because we claim to follow JESUS and have accepted Him as our LORD and Savior. That gives GOD even more right to correct us than He already had before we were saved. “For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons” (Heb 12:6-7 KJV).
You did accept Him, right? If you are not being chastised, maybe you are not His? You could be one heartbeat away from eternal judgement and damnation. You can’t judge me! Paul said, “if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged” (1 Cor 11:31 KJV) and I won’t be the one to judge you, but JESUS will, unless you accept Him as LORD and Savior before you die! If you don’t now, it will be too late then, for “now is the day of salvation” (2 Cor 6:2 KJV)!
