“And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. And they…followed him.” (Mat 4:19 KJV). When they responded to JESUS it changed their lives, and their obedience changed the world. To another “Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions” (Mat 19:21-22 KJV). The rich young man’s life wasn’t changed, and he didn’t change the life of others. He may have repented later, but his greatest opportunity was lost!
How did you respond to JESUS? “God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16 KJV) and “while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Rom 5:8 KJV). If you confessed your sins and accepted JESUS as your LORD and SAVIOR, you are saved! Now you are His and He is commanding (yes, commanding) you to follow Him. Don’t worry, He said, “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee” (Heb 13:5 KJV) and the HOLY SPIRIT will give you the power and wisdom you need!
