Effectual Fervent Prayer

“The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much” (James 5:16 KJV). That seems simple enough, so why don’t we see more results? Are we not praying effectual (effective) or maybe our prayers are not fervent (impassioned)? Are we seriously praying and expecting (in faith) an answer from GOD? Are we praying at all? That’s a lot of questions but the answers are critically important to getting answers! There’s more (always is), “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you” (John 15:7 KJV). That means you need an ongoing relationship with JESUS, not just run to Him when you need something!

It sounds like I have a lot to do if I want answers to my prayers! It’s all part of surrendering yourself to JESUS when you accept Him as your LORD and SAVIOUR. As you seek to know His will for your life and follow His commandment to “love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind” and “love thy neighbour as thyself” (Mat 22:37 and 39 KJV), you will need to spend time in the WORD. The WORD is GOD (John 1:1), so spend a lot of time in the WORD, build your relationship, so you can learn to pray “effectual fervent” prayers and expect answers!
