Big Vision, Big GOD

The LORD said, “Write the vision, and make it plain…that he may run that readeth it” (Hab 2:2 KJV) and Pastor Bob posted it in his home, where he and Sister Kathy started Heritage Christian Ministries! They started small, but the vision has always been as big as the GOD who promised to bless “exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us” (Eph 3:20 KJV).

It took a miracle to start a Church with the world still reeling from COVID, and the vision included a Christian school, community support, and worldwide outreach via Facebook. The school launched from day one of the ministry and filled his already busy home when they weren’t holding Sunday and weekly services. The emergency outreach was tested when record cold and snow caused power outages and water pipes to burst for some of his congregation. He responded when nobody else could.

Miraculously, a building was donated for our Church and School, and we renovated and moved in within two months. We operated on generator power for 6 months until commercial power could be connected. The new building was too small for GOD’s vision, so an extension was added to provide room for fellowship, the growing children’s ministry, and the new Heritage Christian Institute!

None of these support and outreach functions would work if the WORD wasn’t being preached, hearts and lives weren’t being changed, and captives weren’t being set free from sin! Not only is the WORD preached, but miraculous healing and deliverance regularly occur. The HOLY SPIRIT is welcome and freely operates in our services. Come and be part of our big vision because we have a big GOD!

Heritage Christian Ministry Vision

I. Heritage Christian Church
We currently have a church that is about changing lives
1. We minister in salvation through the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ
2. We minister in deliverance and healing
3. The Bible says that “the Truth will make you free” so we teach the Word of God to help walk in freedom

II. Heritage Christian Academy
A. Christian education has been a passion to teach and disciple children with the concepts and beliefs of scripture
B. We have been in Christian education for 20 years and are raising the next generation to continue with this vision.

III. Heritage Christian College or Institute
A. We have written curriculum for Students coming out of high school and older that need a foundation in scripture before moving into what God has called them to do.
B. Not only do we have a curriculum, but we want these young people to be able to see what ministry looks like behind the scenes
C. We want to train them to be a blessing in their home ministries in music, altar ministry, outreach and digital programming for churches

IV. Family Friday
A. Family Friday was started after covid to get people back in fellowship with one another.
B. Covid brought high instances of spousal abuse, depression and suicide. This was our way of combating these symptoms and restoring people.

V. Food Distribution
A. We are part of the La Vernia Ministerial Alliance that has a food pantry in LaVernia. We are currently serving 200 families a month.
B. We also give into Daily Bread Ministries which distributes $11,000,000 of food annually.

VI. Kitchen to feed the hungry
A. It is our desire not only to supply food for families to take home but to feed those who are hungry without a place in times of need
B. This is not meant to be a homeless ministry but to give those who are trying to get back on their feet a helping hand.
C. As a partner with Daily Bread, we have the opportunity to become a distribution site.

VII. Sanctuary for life’s storms
A. We have had two events here that have opened our eyes to the need of the church to help in this area, hurricane Harvey and a snow event that knocked out power and water for 4 days.
B. The church is called a sanctuary and should be a place where people can go in the storms of life
C. We have equipped our buildings to run on alternate power so people can come when storms knock out power. This would also be a ministry for our kitchen.

VIII. Ministry team to help in disasters
We also want to be able to send out teams that can help in other areas in hard times
