Gifted People
Our former missionary Pastor posted a picture of handmade items in a shop he and his wife had discovered while traveling. He called the post “Gifted People” and included a paragraph praising the skill of the craftsmen. I understood his meaning, but the thought came to me that he was a “gifted person.” The definition of “gifted person” is someone who possesses exceptional abilities, talents, or potential in one or more areas. I would agree with that definition, but in addition Pastor Richard Dunn was the recipient of amazing and wonderful gifts.
Besides being an amazing Pastor, Missionary, Bible scholar, writer, speaker and theologian, he has a tender heart for souls that many with his background have lost. That dear lady who was with him is no small gift and often shows him how to reach out to others in love.
More important than anything else, “the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Rom 6:23 KJV) and Pastor Richard has that. That gift is available to all of us because “God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved” (John 3:16-17 KJV). “Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross” (Heb 12:2 KJV) so that you can be one of those “gifted people” and be forgiven of your sins. Receive your gift today, for tomorrow might be too late!
