Change Your Focus!
How’s your prayer life going? Do you even have one? Maybe you stopped praying because you didn’t see any result? The Bible is full of examples of answered prayers, so there must be something to it. When the disciples couldn’t cast a spirit out of a child, JESUS said, “Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you” (Mat 17:20 KJV). So, you must believe, but that’s not all.
What are you praying for? Did you bring your list of stuff to GOD and He didn’t answer? JESUS said, “Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Mat 6:31-33 KJV). When you have made JESUS your LORD and Master, you focus on Him, and He will take care of you! He loves you and knows what you need better than you do!
What are the motivations behind your prayers? James said, “Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts” (James 4:3 KJV). He asked, “Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy” (James 4:5 KJV)? After you are saved your focus should be on what GOD wants!
