We’ve been praying for rain and now it’s here. Not light showers, but downpours like we need so our crops, fields and yards can handle the summer heat. That’s why you won’t find many people complaining about this rainy Sunday morning.
Sadly, this answer to our prayers kept some people from coming to Church. A few may be affected by the weather change and be sick or have a few more aches and pains from the dampness, but we’ve seen a lot of people getting delivered from spirits of infirmity during our Sunday morning services. Even with that available, we had a smaller than normal crowd.
The rain didn’t stop our special visitors. They are more like family, because we’ve known and worked with the couple for many years at another Church. They had recently lost their son and were still grieving, and it was a chance for us to show them some love. Pastor Bob was sensitive to the HOLY SPIRIT and opened the altar before the sermon and called Sister Lola to the front and prayed for her. Sister Kathy was able to love-on her a little more while others were being ministered to.
After the sermon there was another altar call, other people were prayed for, and we had a word of prophecy from one of our leaders for Pastor Bob and the ministry. I thought that was it, but then Sister Lola’s teenage granddaughter went for prayer for her knees. Sister Kathy laid hands on her as Pastor prayed and the pain left, right then and there! Her mother (Melissa) arrived and said she didn’t think they would be needing anymore appointments with the rheumatologist! Melissa also went up for prayer and received a blessing of her own before the service was over.
Yes, it was a rainy Sunday morning and attendance was down, but the LORD said, “where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them” (Mat 18:12 KJV) and GOD did a miracle! Hopefully you can make it to Church next time, even if it’s raining, because GOD may have something for you!
