I took my grandson to watch a movie. A few years ago, I wouldn’t have taken him to see that movie because the message was too tough. He’s a young man now and I believe he can handle the difficult subject and needs to know what the world is like so he can be on guard and protect his loved ones. You see the movie is about rescuing victims of child sex-trafficking.
The movie “Sound of Freedom” has been caught up in controversary as the news media tries to discredit the storyline and the movie supporters. It seems they don’t want the movie, based on a true story, to be seen. Perhaps it’s the line of dialogue “GOD’s children are not for sale” that bothers them? The attention resulted in people flocking to theaters to see it.
It’s not an easy movie to watch but the world needs to know that children are being kidnapped and sold into prostitution and worse. The story focuses on pedophiles and children from Central and South America, but it’s a worldwide problem and a growing criminal enterprise. One troubling fact came out, “Illegal drugs or weapons can be sold once, but a child can be sold five times a day, every day, for ten years.” One thing it does show is “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy” (John 10:10 KJV) and he knows his business.
As bad as the tragedy of child sex-trafficking is, there is a much worse tragedy going on and it’s also a growing criminal enterprise. That’s the tragedy of unrepentant sin! How can regular old sin compare to selling children to abusers? You see there is no such thing as little or big sins. Yes, JESUS said, “whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea” (Mat 18:6 KJV) but the “thief” has an even bigger plan to lead people to destruction.
Religious leaders and their followers are leading the lost away from repentance and salvation. How can you say that when their Churches are full? If they were just mistaken, they would have an excuse. Unfortunately, they know the truth but won’t correct their ways and “to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin” (James 4:17 KJV). Why would they do that? To protect their position, their reputation, to fill their Church, to avoid embarrassment, or just to go along with the popular opinion. That is part of the reason “wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it” (Mat 7:13 KJV). That sounds like a tough message, but the world needs to know where they are headed!
How can that happen when “God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16 KJV)? JESUS also said, “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3 KJV) and “repent ye, and believe the gospel” (Mar 1:15 KJV). Have you heard a lot of that being preached? Instead, they try to hide their sin under grace. They preach tolerance of sin instead of repentance and deliverance from sin and “they will not endure sound doctrine” (2 Tim 4:2-3 KJV). So where is the Good News? You don’t have to go to hell! You are still alive and can turn from your wicked ways, accept JESUS, and be saved!
