Brother Randall and I continued working on the Miracle Building that will become the home of the Heritage Christian Ministries Church and Academy. School was out, so Pastor Bob and Caleb worked with us, and Brother Wes will help later. We have come a long way in a brief period, but the more help, the sooner we can move into the building and have room to grow.
Pastor Bob and Sister Kathy have done a wonderful job of hosting both the school and Church in their home for the past year, but the new building will be so much better. Mainly, it will hold more people! The building should easily accommodate our growing congregation. That means more souls touched, more hearts and lives changed, and more people walking in divine healing and overcoming power. The Christian Academy, which now has 18 students, will easily handle many more than that. We believe in “Train up a child” (Prov 22:6 KJV), so future generations can stand in the gap until JESUS returns!
Our new building won’t be fancy but will be very nice! Sister Kathy requested easy to clean floors, because she “doesn’t want to be cleaning puke out of carpet” during school. Attractive but durable floors, textured walls and a room for Children’s Church should make it a great environment for learning and glorifying GOD! Another advantage, there’s enough room so we don’t have to move too much equipment between school days and Church services. Sound and camera wires will be permanently installed, making them more reliable. Better lighting will improve our service broadcasts. Most importantly, distractions will be minimized, so students learn while in school and the HOLY SPIRIT can minister to people during Church services.
While working on the building, I was reminded of a song I learned in Sunday School many, many years ago. “Building up the temple, building up the temple, building up the temple of the Lord” and another verse was “Brother won’t you help me, sister won’t you help me building up the temple of the Lord.” That’s what we are doing, “building up the temple of the Lord” and calling out “Brother won’t you help me” and “sister won’t you help me” because the more people who help with money, material or labor, the more we can do!
Yes, we are well into this building program, many have already given, and the Lord has miraculously blessed, but we still need more! What can I do, I only have a little? JESUS watched as people put gifts in the Temple treasury and said, “Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all; for all these out of their abundance…but she out of her poverty put in all the livelihood that she had.” (Luke 21:3-4 NKJV). Why would GOD accept so much from a poor widow? He knew what the widow would get in return! JESUS told us “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again” (Luke 6:38 KJV).
Even more important, the temple we are really building is the Body of CHRIST. JESUS asked, “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you” (1 Cor 3:16 KJV)? So, come on and let’s build up the Temple together!
