Give…
It’s a subject that brings out the worst in some people. They love to receive but draw the line when you mention giving. It’s a topic many Pastors avoid, because they will lose their people if they ask for money. They will say “all he wants is our money” and hold back the little bit they were going to give.
Sadly, those are the kind of people that need to learn to give. JESUS knew about those people and said, “where your treasure is, there will your heart be also” (Mat 6:21 KJV). How can you truly believe in JESUS and not trust Him with your money? JESUS said, “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal” (Mat 6:19-20 KJV). You can trust Him with your eternity and your money!
But I don’t have enough to give! I have bills to pay and need to save for the future. If I lose my job and don’t have savings in the bank, I will lose everything! Who do you think gave you that job and blessed you with “things” you need to pay for? JESUS said, “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again” (Luke 6:38 KJV). GOD will “do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think” (Eph 3:20 KJV)! Give Him a try!
