The commercial plane was about to land after a routine flight from Wichita, Kansas to Reagan National Airport. With an ice-skating team on board, the average age of the passengers was quite young. The farthest thing from their minds was how much time they had left.
It must have been like that in the military helicopter. There are always risks, but the crew was well-trained, disciplined, and they had the finest equipment. On top of that, the air traffic controller was watching over them, to keep them out of trouble. Surely, they had plenty of time… The helicopter and commercial plane collided and in the blink of an eye, there was no more time!
Like so many times before, a young mother was preparing food for the fellowship that would follow the Friday night praise and prayer service at Heritage Christian Ministries. At the same time, she was getting four children ready and one, Ava wasn’t feeling good. She was looking forward to the service. Then while driving down the highway, Ava went into convulsions! She pulled off the highway, called 911, her husband, and started praying over her seemingly lifeless daughter, calling her back to life. Something told her to give her breath, so she did, and another. She didn’t stop praying for her child, even as the First Responders arrived and began caring for her. Soon her husband and Mother-In-Law arrived and added to the prayers, in fact the entire Church was praying for her!
Prayer was the key. Ava was released from the hospital that same night and was in Church on Sunday morning! How much time does she have? We don’t know, but GOD hears and answers prayers, that precious child is still with us today!
