I Have Decided…
Our Pastor preached on this subject, using Daniel, as an example of someone who decided to obey GOD, and his parents decided in the way they “trained him up” (Prov 22:6). He and three other Hebrews (Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego) decided to obey GOD no matter the cost. GOD protected them and gave them favor with the King of Babylon. Daniel was so favored, that he held high positions and served several Kings.
In this fallen and depraved world, we will not always find worldly favor when we obey GOD, but if we count the cost, it will always be worth it! In Deuteronomy 31:8 it says, “the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee”. Paul said, “If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Rom 8:31 KJV) and “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Phil 1:21 KJV). So, whether we live or die, we win if we follow JESUS!
It is sad that it doesn’t take much to keep people from following JESUS. Even Christians fall away because someone hurt their feelings, they don’t want to be shunned by their friends, it’s easier to follow popular opinion, or I need my rest, all those preachers want is your money, and a thousand other excuses that will sound foolish when they face JESUS, who died on the cross to keep them out of Hell. They will have an eternity to think about GOD, who “so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16 KJV). If you are reading this, you can still decide. Don’t wait until you can’t!
