“If God be for us, who can be against us” (Rom 8:31 KJV)? That question might lead you to believe that our loving GOD might not be for you. In fact, He was for you before you were for Him, “While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Rom 5:8 KJV). Romans 8:31 is true but is clearer if you understand the “if” depends on you. If that is true, why are so many people still defeated? Because they haven’t accepted JESUS CHRIST and the price He paid for our sin on the cross. JESUS told us, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6 KJV).
Why must we go through JESUS to get to the father? Because you are not perfect! JESUS said, “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect” (Mat 5:48 KJV) and only JESUS can make you perfect and only if you believe because “without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him” (Heb 11:6 KJV). GOD is for us, but we are in sin.
JESUS said, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10 KJV) and many have chosen to follow the thief. Doesn’t that mean GOD is no longer for them? No, GOD continues to call them through the HOLY SPIRIT and won’t stop until they take their last breath, but their hearts are hardened, and they are rebelling against the GOD who loves them.
GOD’s love and mercy are without limits, but whether our sins are forgiven, or we are punished for them depends on us. If we turn from of our sins and ask JESUS to forgive us, we become perfect in the eyes of the FATHER. So that’s when GOD is for us? GOD has been for you since the foundations of the world. That’s because, “God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved” (John 3:16 KJV). That’s why the question isn’t “If God be for us” but if we are for God “who can be against us?”
Now that you know GOD is for you and none can be against you once you accept JESUS CHRIST as you SAVIOR, what are you waiting for? Make the next move, GOD has already done His part and don’t forget GOD is for you!
