“If You Love Me…”
You’ve heard the preaching and teaching, may have attended Sunday School or Children’s Church as a child, you know the stories, the familiar verses and can even quote a few Bible verses by heart. Now what are you going to do with all that knowledge? JESUS said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15 KJV).
Most importantly, JESUS said, “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3 KJV). It’s more than just believing, but it says in Psalms, “a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise” (Psa 51:17 KJV) and accepting JESUS as your LORD and MASTER! “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s” (1 Cor 6:20 KJV)! Now obey Him!
Do I have to become a preacher? You must “love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind” and “love thy neighbour as thyself” (Mat 22:37and 39 KJV). That may include “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15 KJV) or walking across the street! Obedience is the important part, whatever that may look like!
