You’ve got to be kidding! Are you watching the same news as I am? I’m serious and yes, I see the same news as you. How could you say “it is well” with Russia attacking the Ukraine, and China is preparing for war? Maybe you haven’t noticed our country is plunging dangerously into debt and inflation is hurting our people and destroying our economy, as politicians play politics as usual? No, I see all of that. How could you be at peace with criminals destroying major cities, while the Police are being attacked? Don’t you see there are darker forces at work behind the scenes to destroy our democracy?
I clearly see the thief who “cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy” is winning the hearts and minds of men and JESUS, who has “come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10 KJV) is being rejected by more and more people. Then how can you not be worried like the rest of us? JESUS said, “broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it” (Mat 7:13-14 KJV) and that’s what is happening. Yes, but we must change their hearts and minds so we can turn it around!
Paul told Timothy, “evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus” (2 Tim 3:13-17 KJV). Things haven’t changed much since then and what Paul told Timothy is what we should be doing as well. But we are clearly approaching the end of time, and we must do more to reach the lost! The end of the world could come at any time, but for 150,000 souls it came today, and it will get worse. It has always been as important to win the lost as it is today. Then please explain why do you say “it is well” when it clearly isn’t?
Let me clarify. It is well with my soul because “God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16 KJV). Everybody knows that, so maybe everyone will be saved like the popular Churches are teaching? No, there is more to salvation than that.
You must ADMIT you are a sinner. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Rom 3:23 KJV) and “the wages of sin is death” (Rom 6:23 KJV). BELIEVE that JESUS paid for your sin on the cross. “God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Rom 5:8 KJV) and “the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Rom 6:23 KJV). CONFESS that JESUS is the Son of GOD and follow Him because “if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved” (Rom 10:9 KJV). Then you too can have “peace that passes understanding” (Phil 4:7) and be able to say, “It is well with my soul!”
