Like Your Life Depended On It!

My granddaughter is learning to drive, and I asked her how her practicing was going. She told me about a mistake she made. I think she was embarrassed, but I told her she needed to be more careful and treat it “like your life depended on it” because it does! I didn’t want to scare her, but I love her too much not to tell her the truth! Why would I not tell her and just hope she figures it out for herself until it’s too late?

It’s not just her life, but her mistakes can hurt or kill others! She might even pass a driving mistake to a friend or family member, especially if no one corrects her. She may not even realize she did anything wrong, until it’s too late.

That’s much like sin, except the consequences are eternal! People get mad if I mention the consequences of sin. They say we shouldn’t scare people, but JESUS talked about the rich man being in torment (Luke 16:23) and there being no way out. Why would I not tell them “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3 KJV) and in John 3:16 KJV “God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” it infers that non-believers would perish. We must tell them, and they must believe like their life depends on it!

It doesn’t stop at them, if they believe. The truth, just like sin can affect others! Sin can hurt or kill, but the truth, can bring life everlasting! Share it like their eternal lives depend on it, because it does!
