Sons Of GOD
I’ve been listening to a song, No Orphans, and it touched my heart. One verse says, “There are no orphans of GOD”. I’m not an orphan, but I lived in Foster Care when I was a teenager. My mother had to stay in the hospital and my brothers, and I didn’t live together for much of that time. I had some very nice Foster-parents, but it wasn’t easy living in other people’s homes. My needs were met, but it was never my home, and they were never my family.
The song goes on to say, “There are no strangers…no outcasts… no orphans of God…so many fallen…Come ye unwanted and find affection, Come all ye weary, come and lay down your head, Come ye unworthy, you are my brother… grace was made for lives like this”.
How do we get access to that kind of love? It’s all a GOD thing! “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved” (John 3:16-17 KJV). JESUS, who is GOD (John 1:1) “the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Heb 12:2 KJV). “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God” (1 John 3:1 KJV).
