The problems of the world are beyond mankind’s ability to solve. Political tensions are ripping our country apart, as politicians abandon the very foundations of our success, so they can get into power and stay there. Age doesn’t bring wisdom, it turns anger into bitterness. Some say it will get better with time, but time doesn’t solve anything; in fact it seems to make things worse. We devour one another at home, as our enemies plot our downfall. We can do better.
Advances in medicine, science and technology should enable us to fix anything, but our advances have added to our problems. We make a better living, but ruin our lives. We give our kids more stuff, but are losing them. We produce better food, but eat worse. We have better medical care, but kill ourselves with drugs and alcohol. Technology helps us do more, but it’s never enough. We have more knowledge, but less wisdom. We need someone with the answers, the ability and the desire to help us. We need some superheroes!
In the US, elections are held every four years to find the best person to lead our country. You would think we could find the superhero we need, but we end up with someone just as imperfect as we are. As soon as they are elected, half the country tries to destroy them! The rest of our elected officials are just as flawed. We have a system of checks and balances to keep anyone from taking over, but everything they do is a trade-off or a compromise, or less than their best. No superheroes there!
There have always been superheroes ready willing and able to help us! GOD is waiting for us to ask for His help. He “so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. …God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved” (John 3:16-17 KJV). You must admit you have sinned and accept JESUS as your Lord and Savior. If you don’t get that far, the rest doesn’t matter. You will fail and spend an eternity in Hell.
Salvation is the most important step, but why stop there? You have Superheroes on your side! You must have faith, because “for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him” (Heb 11:6 KJV). Go ahead and diligently seek Him through prayer and studying the Bible and don’t let religion keep you from your reward! If you don’t have faith and diligently seek, you will miss out on the benefits He has for you.
GOD needs a body to do His Superhero work. I see one of those bodies in action every week. He accepted JESUS as his LORD and Savior, had faith and diligently sought Him and was rewarded with a miraculous healing of his own body. He didn’t stop with his own reward, but shares his testimony of GOD’s love and power. Walking in the power of the HOLY SPIRIT, he prayed for many other people, with miraculous results. He takes no credit, but points to GOD the FATHER, SON and HOLY SPIRIT as the power behind the miracles of healing, deliverance and raising the dead he played a part in. We have found our Superheroes!
