I saw it on one of those lists telling people how to enjoy your life. I’m sure it is good for special occasions, but not always. If all you need is a place to sleep for a night, why spend extra to have nicer furniture, fancy soap and real dishes in your hotel room? Many upgrades, like unneeded car accessories, can push what was an affordable vehicle out of your price range. I’ve got heated seats in my car, that I will never use in Texas, but the right-turn camara is an upgrade I have come to depend on! I got the car at a great price and took the upgrade!
One time you will want to take the upgrade is when you get saved. When you accept JESUS as your SAVIOR, you pass from death to life (John 5:24), it’s part of the package, so take it! When you are born again, you can “see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3 KJV), another gift you can take! JESUS, “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness by whose stripes ye were healed” (1 Peter 2:24 KJV), take it all! “And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive” (Mat 21:22 KJV), you will need that, so take the upgrade!
But you say, I didn’t get all of that when I got saved! Maybe you didn’t take it? Did someone talk you out of it? It’s right there in GOD’s WORD. You will need it all if you “love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength” and “love thy neighbour as thyself” (Mark 12:30-31 KJV). How else will you be able to “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15 KJV). So, there’s something I must do? When you accept JESUS CHRIST as LORD and SAVIOR, it was no longer all about you! It’s your turn to love GOD by loving others!
