The Impossible Dream

What are your dreams this year? Are you planning on just getting by or making your life better? Modest goals may improve your chances of success, but is that really what you want? If you are going to dream, why not dream big? Why not the impossible?

If you want something big, you need to get ready for a big change. Yes, you must get involved! Hard work and effort on your part is a given, but are you ready to take a chance? What about sacrifice? We are talking about a big result, so expect to do more than you did before. Can you endure? Is that even possible?

You will need a lot of resources. Will you have to earn more, save more, get another job or perhaps a promotion? Maybe you need to partner with someone who has great resources? Can they trust you? Will you be there when the going gets tough? You may have to overcome difficulty and failure before you attain your goal. Are you afraid of failure?

Where will this great thing come from? What about your family? Can they be the source of your big thing? Do you know any great people who might give you something great? Great people are not generally known for generosity. Have you earned the favor of a great person? If you have a valuable talent or skill, you might find a benefactor. If you are great, you might win an award that could change your life. Is it possible that you deserve something great?

I don’t know about you, but I want to dream big this year, more than that I want the impossible! Facing the impossible, I am preparing for things to change. I am prepared to do my part, though it won’t be enough. I don’t have and can’t get enough resources on my own, but I know who has more than enough. I have failed many times, but I won’t give up. I know someone who is great enough to help! In fact, I’m a member of His family. I didn’t earn His favor; it was freely given. I don’t have great talent or skills to contribute. I owed a debt I couldn’t pay and deserved death, but the impossible happened! He paid my debt!

My debt was paid because “God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16 KJV). That is the ultimate “dream come true.” If you haven’t accepted JESUS, nothing else matters. Nothing compares with “everlasting life” when the alternative is everlasting death. I believed and received JESUS and was made perfect by His shed blood. Now I can ask for the impossible, because “with God all things are possible” (Mat 19:26 KJV). Will GOD do it for me? Yes, more than I could ask or even think (Eph 3:20)! I’m dreaming BIG this year, how about you?
