People are afraid to die! Depending on what they do while they are alive, most should be! They should be afraid of the next step for “it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Heb 9:27 KJV). How can you judge people that haven’t died yet? I can’t but Jesus said, “wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it” (Mat 7:13-14 KJV). That means for most, the next step will be judgement.
The lost will stand before JESUS and be judged for their sins! The next step will be the sentence and will last forever… “whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire” (Rev 20:15 KJV). For the saved, they will go from death into eternal life…
Where is the Good News in all of that? You don’t have to die for your own sins “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved” (John 3:16-17 KJV).
