Use It Or Lose It!

When I was in the military, I earned compensation time off. The rule was if I didn’t use it, I would lose it. Even though I had worked while others didn’t and the time off was rightfully mine, the opportunity to use it was for a limited time. I remember losing comp time again and again when I just couldn’t get away. It was up to me, and I decided not to take the time off I had earned, and I lost it.

I see businesses offering limited time discounts to encourage customers to buy their products and services now. Some offer coupons that include an expiration date clearly printed so people will know the deadline. Don’t bother trying to use an expired coupon because they won’t honor it. A Christian publishing company sends me emails which include deep discounts on their services, but they always include an expiration date. One such offer just expired at the end of the year and is no longer valid. I’m not ready to commit to a publishing deal just yet so I watched their “lowest prices of the year” offer expire. The offer was real, the discounts were great, but I didn’t use it, so I lost it!

There’s another great offer that comes with an expiration date and you don’t want to let that offer expire. It’s not a discount but an unbelievably wonderful gift! The offer not only pays off your debt but includes benefits that are “exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think” (Eph 3:20 KJV)! It’s the greatest gift from the greatest giver and it’s yours to accept or reject. “God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16 KJV).

That offer is still valid and always will be! If you believe that you are dangerously mistaken. That offer expired for most of the 150,000 people who died yesterday. How can you say that when you are not their judge! JESUS said, “wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in…Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it” (Mat 7:13-14 KJV) and He will be your judge if you miss the deadline, and let His offer expire.

GOD loves everybody, how can He send so many to hell? GOD sacrificed His Son and JESUS died a cruel death on the cross to pay for the sins you committed, so it’s not GOD who is sending people to hell. People have the choice to accept His offer, they have the choice to “use it or lose it” while they are alive, and they let that offer expire. They lost their choice when they died.

Don’t wait, “now is the day of salvation” (2 Cor 6:2 KJV), a great price was paid for your sins, so you don’t have to suffer! If your heart is beating and your mind still clear the offer remains valid, but you must “use it or (you will) lose it!”
