I posted pictures on Facebook last week, along with a graphic representation of the Star of David that reads “Pray for Israel” and the scripture “Psalm 122:6” which is “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee” and was surprised at the negative responses. Not all were negative but this a military town and most respect Israel for their capability and strong stance against terrorism. It sounded more like they were from the west coast or New York City!
Did I apologize? Delete my post or hide my name? No, I’m saving up another batch of pictures to post this week! Why would you do that for people that you don’t even know? Because we are family! You are not Jewish. Paul said, “ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God” (Eph 2:19 KJV) so that makes me family. Besides that, GOD chose them and that is good enough for me.
When asked what the greatest commandment is, JESUS said “love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind” …” And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself” (Mat 22:38-39 KJV). What better way could there be to love the LORD than to love the neighbor He loves like they are your family, because they are!
While you are at it, you can love your Christian brothers and sisters as yourself. That won’t be easy, but it will help you prepare to love your unsaved and not-so-nice neighbors as well. That’s just the beginning! You will need the HOLY SPIRIT to help you “Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you” (Mat 5:44 KJV). You will need that same power more as the end approaches and people commit more sin.
It doesn’t seem worth it. What can I do? I will just keep my head down and ride out the storm. That storm will end in either heaven or hell and “wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it” (Mat 7:13-14 KJV). How many of your family are you willing to let go to hell? Get out there and tell them the Good News because we are family!
