Normally, as I begin to write, I have a topic and an idea of the direction the story will go. Today is different. The LORD hasn’t told me exactly what to write about, so we will see where this takes us. I will only go if He leads, because I don’t want this to be my story, but His.
I just returned from working on the new Heritage Christian Ministries Church and School building, so that could be a good subject. What a chance to be a blessing! I could mention the faithful workers, GOD’s miraculous provision or the challenges that lay ahead, but I don’t feel that is what I am supposed to write about.
I just saw a Facebook post about “Loving a Child Who Might Leave” and that interested me. I know the lady who posted it recently sent Foster Children she had for years back to their home. That would be a touching subject that I know something about, having lived in four different Foster Homes as a child. I could have recounted the pain of not knowing what’s next, but that’s not what GOD wants me to write about this time.
The news is often a good source for a story, because it grabs people’s attention and there is a wealth of information available. If there aren’t enough facts, I can always fill in with my opinion on the subject. It’s usually easy to point out a Biblical lesson that could have prevented a problem or might help next time. Why wasn’t I assigned something like that?
It could be that I am supposed to write about the solution for all those subjects and more. Maybe I am supposed to write about GOD’s love as in “God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16 KJV)? With most people going to hell (Mat 7:13-14), will anyone listen to how much GOD loves them? I hope so!
How about some encouragement to read the Bible? I know people are more visually motivated and their attention span is short, but “the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth” (John 1:14) so the WORD and GOD are one and that is where you get to know Him. That’s called a relationship. I couldn’t write anything better than the Bible, so I will leave it at that.
I could write about the HOLY SPIRIT, but if you don’t believe, my writings won’t convince you. You see it’s the HOLY SPIRIT who is speaking to you now and you can ask Him (yes, He can speak) if you want to know more. I hesitate to provoke you too much, because if you blaspheme the HOLY SPIRIT, you can’t be forgiven (Mat 12:31-32 KJV).
Well, I am nearing the end of the page with my questions, so I had better bring this to an end with another answer, “if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:9-10 KJV). I think I got my answer and you heard yours from the mouth of GOD.
