Win-Win

As the search for bodies continues from the Kerrville flood, there is a flood of questions being asked. How could this have happened and what can we do to prevent it from happening again? People can’t accept such a loss of young lives. It’s unthinkable, and along with the deaths in the RV park, they realize it could have been them. They could have died!

Why is death so unthinkable, when even the Bible says, “it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Heb 9:27 KJV)? Is it the possibility of judgement that bothers people? It should, because JESUS said, “wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because… narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it” (Mat 7:13-14 KJV). 150,000 other people died that same day as the campers and few of them passed the narrow way unto life.

Why would I mention this with so many still grieving? Because another 150,000 will die tomorrow and “God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16 KJV). If you accept JESUS as your LORD and SAVIOR, then “to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Phil 1:21 KJV) so either one is a win!
