There was a time when our leaders (US) said words we could live by. Their words were displayed on buildings, found in books, taught in school and proudly quoted by those who were wise. Now, they publicly use foul language, lie, and constantly make outrageous statements. They seem to be more interested in staying in power and tearing down the other party than taking care of the people or making the country strong. You can’t follow our leaders because it’s like the blind leading the blind and you will both end up in the ditch (Mat 15:14).
Who are we supposed to follow? I will follow JESUS CHRIST who is GOD, “the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Heb 12:2 KJV). How do we follow Him? Read His WORD “For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee” (Prov 4:22-24 KJV).
JESUS said the greatest commandments are to “love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind…And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself” (Mat 22:37 and 39 KJV) so those are words to live by!
