This week started off with a surprise, and not a nice one. We received an email from the hospital where my wife had knee surgery, with a bill for $1,632.00. We’ve seen these errors before when they didn’t bill our supplementary insurance. I called their billing department. I spoke with three different people and after two hours, ended up with “we don’t know.” I finally called my insurance provider. A very helpful lady said they needed another form filled out before they could pay the additional charges. After all that frustration, it took one person with the answer and one form to pay the bill!
That reminds me of another bill I found out about. I discovered how much I had failed “all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Rom 3:23 KJV) and “the wages of sin is death” (Rom 6:23 KJV). I desperately searched for answers because I needed help to pay my bill! Education and reason weren’t it, and religion never made me good enough!
I cried out to JESUS who said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6 KJV) and “the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Rom 6:23 KJV). I turned from my sins and asked JESUS forgive me and He did! After all that frustration, all I had to do is accept the precious gift JESUS had already given, and my bill was paid!
